Elnaz Tafrihi is an interaction designer and a PhD student in Building Science program at UC Berkeley. She was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. Elnaz found her passion in Math and arts from her early teenage years. She further pursued her dream of intersecting design and sciences in Architectural design at University of Art in Tehran.
In 2012, She moved to the United States to continue her education in architecture. She currently holds a Master in Design studies from Harvard Graduate school of design and a Master of Architecture (M.Arch 2013) and Bachelor of Architecture (BS 2012). Elnaz has previously worked in Transsolar Inc. in New York city as a project engineer intern on various projects including Tianjin Julliard school with DS+R Architects, Rising Ryde with Architensions, etc. She also has experience in Hospitality during her internship at Gensler’s Los Angeles office.
Elnaz has worked as a designer and sustainable design analyst at Steinberg Hart in San Francisco and Los Angeles, where she tried to overlap architectural design and building performance.
Her expertise other than architectural design lies in design and analysis of high performance buildings. She has experience in Building simulation, daylight analysis and structural analysis.
